Our Story

Built by a Southerner who got tired of waiting for honest EV coverage.

Most EV media is written for California. ChargeSouth exists for the rest of us — the folks in Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, and Texas trying to figure out if an EV actually works for their life, their commute, and their roads.

Why ChargeSouth

The South is the next frontier for EV adoption.

The Southeast has more NEVI funding coming online than almost anywhere in the country. State utility programs are expanding. EV prices are finally dropping into mainstream territory. But there's almost no media covering what this means for real Southern drivers.

ChargeSouth fills that gap — with honest reviews, infrastructure tracking, policy analysis, and road trip guides written specifically for this region.

🎯
Honest, independent reviews
No manufacturer sponsorships. No paid placements. Every review is funded by readers like you.
🗺️
Southern-specific coverage
Range in Alabama heat. Charger reliability on I-10. What EVs actually work for long rural hauls.
📋
Infrastructure & policy depth
NEVI spend tracking, CFI grant analysis, utility programs — the kind of detail no one else covers.
Real-world data, always
We test in actual Southern conditions — summer heat, highway speeds, rural stops — not lab cycles.

Questions we get asked a lot.

Is ChargeSouth affiliated with any EV manufacturer or charging network?

No. ChargeSouth is fully independent. We don't accept manufacturer sponsorships, paid placements, or affiliate deals that influence our reviews. Our only revenue comes from the newsletter and any future membership program.

How do you test EVs?

We test in real Southern driving conditions — highway speeds, summer heat, rural routes, and actual charging infrastructure. We report real-world figures, not EPA estimates, and always disclose how and where vehicles were tested.

Can I pitch a story or submit a tip?

Absolutely. If you have a lead on a new charging station, a NEVI project update, a state policy development, or an EV story from the South that isn't getting coverage — we want to hear it. Use the contact link below.

Do you cover EVs outside the South?

Our focus is the Southeast and South, but we'll cover national EV news and reviews when they're directly relevant to Southern buyers — especially federal incentives, national charging network expansions, and major new EV releases.

How do I support ChargeSouth?

The best thing you can do is subscribe to the newsletter and share our content with other EV-curious Southerners. If you want to support financially, a paid membership tier is coming soon.
